Common questions
How do I track a price?
Add an item and choose its comparison unit, then enter the purchase price, quantity, store, and date. Use the same unit for every purchase of that item: for a 250 g pack compared per gram, enter 250 as the quantity.
How are discounts and fees calculated?
Enter the price before adjustments. Add a negative adjustment for a discount or a positive one for a fee. Price Pal divides the final total by the quantity to calculate the unit price.
Does Price Pal check store prices automatically?
No. You enter purchases yourself. Price Pal compares your saved records; it does not fetch retailer prices or send price-drop alerts.
How do currencies work?
Thai baht (THB) is the fixed base currency. Add exchange rates in Settings, save your currency settings, and choose a display currency. Rates are manual. Changing a rate recalculates historical comparisons using that rate while preserving original purchase amounts.
How do I back up or restore my records?
In Settings, choose Prepare Backup, then save the JSON file to Files or share it. Keep that file somewhere you can access later. Restore from JSON shows a preview and asks for confirmation before replacing all current items, purchases, settings, and rates. Export a backup first if you want to preserve the current data.
Does it sync between devices?
No automatic app sync is included in the first release. You can transfer a JSON backup yourself. Restoring it replaces the destination device’s current records.
Do I need an account or subscription?
No. The first release is free and works without an account, ads, analytics, or a subscription. It requires iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later.
How do I delete a record?
Open an item to delete a purchase or use Delete Item to remove the item and its purchases. Deleting records does not remove copies you previously exported or shared.
